Tri States Public Radio News Wins Seven Iowa AP Awards

Tri States Public Radio WIUM 91.3 and WIUW 89.5 took home seven awards from the Iowa Associated Press Convention in Ames on April 30, 2004. News Director Rich Egger ( RG-Egger@wiu.edu ) won both first and second place awards in the Technical Excellence category for "The Battle of Pea Ridge" (1st) and "The Hawkeye Valley Bell Project" (2nd); Student Arts Reporter Jake
Peterson shares the second place award.
In the Features category, "The Battle of Pea Ridge" was also recognized with a second place award; third place went to "The Hawkeye Valley Bell Project." Tri States Public Radio's Southeast Iowa Correspondent Jason Parrott won first place in the Political Reporting category for "Five Men, One Seat." Jason's work was also recognized in the General Reporting category, with a second place award for "Small Pox Drill." Third place in General Assignment Reporting went to News Director Rich Egger for "Dipping Tires in the Mississippi."
